OOC getting long again.

Well we're putting the lockbox on the wagon first, but yeah, I think you can get us to the herb shop.
Oh and just to make sure she doesn't forget, Nadia can Detect Magic on the ring if she wants to. They really should make beer-scented candles. -Barak, while attending a candle-selling party. |

I knew that!
Yeah, go ahead and move us along back to the herb shop although Nadia will want to try to convince Pen that Alex's idea isn't so bad. After we see about the ring. |

So..... what are we going to do? I don't really object to leaving all the wine on the counter as Enaborem requests. Holding some back won't really accomplish much I don't think.
Do you really think he's sleeping? I guess it makes sense - not wanting to sleep at night in this place. But it's sort of surprising that he trusts us not to kill him in his sleep. He must feel very protected. Either that, or he is convinced that Pen is a paladin and that she won't let the rest of us do anything. Plus he's got the cat to watch over him. |

I don't really like his "leave me lotsa time to prepare, then come back at a set time so I can ambush you" attitude, but oh well..
Not sure what we should do now, with Eber virtually out of spells and Nadia out of Greater Turning, I don't think we should go tackle on more undeads.. Maybe we should just rest up until 3 as well. They really should make beer-scented candles. -Barak, while attending a candle-selling party. |

Remember, even with my less black and white version of alignment, clerics give off auras of good or evil based on their deities (as per the normal D&D rules). So if this guy has a way of determing alignment, he can be pretty secure that a party of good people isn't going to murder him in his sleep.

You gotta appreciate that about good people.

Nadia will suggest that if Alex leaves only some of the bottles of wine on the counter, that he write a note explaining why we're holding the rest.
And we might as well rest ourselves until 3. |

Sounds good. I just need to know how and where you'll all rest up.

I say, either back where our camp was or right there in the customer part of the herb shop. At least we might be able to hear him if he started casting spells.

That's a good idea.. The customer part of the herb shop gets my vote

I think the herb shop also. Except, Nadia will rest outside in the wagon, keeping an eye (or half and eye) on the horses, etc. I don't think she actually plans to sleep or anything. Just wait for 3 o'clock to roll around.

Damn, only six hours until 3 (give or take a little). That means I can't try and abuse the arcane preperation rules.
Any way, I'm thinking we'll want to setup camp again tonight out on the perifery of the old agricultural fields. Whatever Enaborem tells us we're not going to want to take on any more undead today. We've got four more concentrations of undead to deal with. Think it'll take four more days? Black holes are where God divided by zero. |

Re: Nulb - OOC 3 | ||

Honestly, I think that it's quite likely that some of those undead will be beyond us. I haven't asked yet, but I'm not sure David will let Nadia cast another Consecration spell - I never specifically said that Nadia bought enough powdered silver.
Nadia doesn't feel like we HAVE to clean up the whole town. She just wanted to have a look around, and if we found something we could handle, great! This is just speculation of course, but I've been thinking almost since the beginning that there could be vampires here. That could be one explanation for why we were safe camping where we did - a river runs between there and the town. That would also explain why Enaborem is safe in his little shop - vampires have to be invited in. Anyway, if we do find out that there are vampires in town, we might want to avoid camping on the side of town that isn't protected by the river. |

Re: Nulb - OOC 3 | ||

I really don't think there's vampires. How would they survive in a city with no living inhabitants? Well, with -one- living inhabitant? They need to feed on blood.. And there isn't as much as a rat around here, from what we've seen.

Re: Nulb - OOC 3 | ||

Do any kind of undead really need to feed on living things to survive? Sure they want blood, but do they have to have it? I don't remember the monster manual saying anything about that.

Oh my! Those were some bad fort save rolls there. Good thing you didn't do so badly on the wraiths.
Oh, and in case anyone is wondering. Everybody would have heard those shrieks. |

Well, this looks like it'll be another exciting combat for me.
David, your description in the game thread makes it sound like Nadia saved against the paralysis, but the combat thread lists her as paralyzed. Did I read that wrong? Edit: Nevermind, I reread the combat thread. I didn't get that there were two separate screams. |

Paralyzed! | ||

At least we have a couple of scrolls of remove paralysis around somewhere... I know that Nadia has one for sure, and I think that I saw that someone else had picked one up.
But dang! Alex is paralyzed and poisoned! Maybe if we're lucky Enaborem will have some antitoxin he'd be willing to sell us. I wonder if the Vargs would have attacked the horses if we hadn't been outside... edit: oh my god! I just looked these Vargouille up in the MM. Alex has been kissed! He's going to turn into one of these creatures unless we can cast remove disease before the transformation is complete! I hope that one of us knows enough to realize what's happening... although I'm not sure that knowing will help us. |

Re: Paralyzed! | ||

Yep, two separate screams. One more available.
I probably won't bother with a map this time. Oh, and I'd better go update the combat thread again. I just realized that the "kiss" from the screaming varg just released Alex from his paralysis. |
