Eber's knowledge skills come through again (18+4).
He can identify the creatures and knows their properties. |

Remind me to throw a few ranks into the various knowledge skills that would relate to diffrent monsters at the next level (in this case planes). With all the creature identifying that Eber's doing...

I will remind you.
From the combat description, I can't tell if Nadia saved versus the kiss. So, Pen is going to hold on to remove disease until that gets cleared up. |

Re: Knowledge | ||

Crito have you updated the XP for the vrags?

Re: Knowledge | ||

Uh, my fingers are crossed too!
If Nadia levels up, she can cast remove disease in the morning. She does not have a daylight spell prepared. I'll wait to hear from David about leveling up before I do an IC post.... |

Re: Knowledge | ||

Morning may be too late.
Personally I'm hoping that Pen gets to level 6 so that she has remove disease twice per week. Black holes are where God divided by zero. |

Re: Knowledge | ||

Actually, you can't tell whether Alex saved vs the kiss either. Only time will tell.
Oh, fudge! If this were F2F, it would be fun to play this out with me giving you tidbits of information about Nadia's and Alex's condition as you go along and things progress (or not). But I'm worried that it might bog things down. You're all really good about meta-gaming. Would you prefer me to feed the information in a little at a time, or would you rather me let you know the results and allow you to incorporate the details into your own posts at the appropriate moments as you go along? |

Re: Knowledge | ||

Would it activate the second remove disease right away? OMG, that would be such a crucial level.
Those were only 1HD creatures. I don't know if we're going to level. Even if we don't, I am not letting either character turn into a Varg. I have a plan. It is really a desperate one. Remove Disease on one...and the other will just have to really, really trust Pen. It will be expensive too. I'm sure you've figured it out now. edit: This might be cruel to Elanor and Parallax, but I wouldn't mind getting it bit by bit. Maybe they should be the ones to decide. |

Re: Knowledge | ||

Bit by bit is fine with me.
edit: Those were just 1 HD monsters?? Wow! |

Re: Knowledge | ||

A little cross-posting here.
Just updated the xp. Vargouilles are only one HD, but they're CR 2 because of their special properties. Congrats to the new level sixers! I know some DM's don't like to allow leveling in the middle of things, but I prefer to think of leveling as occurring in gradual stages over the course of the adventure. So that abilities are gained as soon as you get the xp you need for it. The only exception I would make to this is for new skills that you want to pick up that no one else in the group has and that you haven't been using or training for. In that case, you would need some down time for training before I'd count the skill points. Looks like your problem is solved. |

Re: Knowledge | ||

Well they might have had only 1HD, but they -were- CR 2, so it's not all that bad.
Whichever way you wanna dole out the info is fine by me, Crito, but like Capp said, it's not my character.. And now for something completely different.. Yay! We levelled. Ok, here's the relevant info. A fighter level, no surprise there.. First the stuff I have no control over.. -+1 BAB, bringing Rolf to +6/+1.. Yummy! -+1 to all saves.. Yay! -d10+3 HPs. And the choices.. -Feats: Expertise and Endurance -Skills: 2 points in Spot, giving Rolf +1 rank, 1 point in listen, giving him .5 rank I think that's it... Edit: Cross-post.. I sorta assume that for skills like spot and listen, no training is really necessary... Personally, I don't require players in my game to really learn any skills that can be done untrained, since they sorta know how to do it already... Let me know whatcha think. They really should make beer-scented candles. -Barak, while attending a candle-selling party. |

I'm in favor of the bit by bit progression.
Hmm... How to phrase the fact that one might have passed the save? Black holes are where God divided by zero. |

Their immune system succesfully defeated the virus that the lips of the vargouilles carry, negating their effect?
Or, like, the Gods smiled upon them. They really should make beer-scented candles. -Barak, while attending a candle-selling party. |

Sorry Jen... yes of course it did! Geez, borrowing your paladin friend's Vest of Charism and forgetting to return it is worse than borrowing money and forgetting about it!
Hurray for the level up! David I'll send you the details..... er, eventually. (Hopefully by tonight.) |

Re: Knowledge | ||

Bit by bit progression, but that doesn't happen in the middle of a battle.
And as for skills like spot, listen, etc., you're correct, J-F. I wouldn't require extra training for things like that which you are essentially doing all the time. I'm only talking about new skills that really would reasonably require specialized training. |

K, just checking.
Well this is a relief (the 2 cure disease that Pen know has!) Never thought I'd see a paladin happy to have that ability. They really should make beer-scented candles. -Barak, while attending a candle-selling party. |

Re: Knowledge | ||

Have any of you seen The Abyss? There's a scene where the main characters (a married couple) are trapped in a sinking sub and they have to swim back to the station, but they only have one air tank. Their solution is to let the woman drown and hope that they can revive her with CPR after the man swims back. (I won't say whether it works or not, in case some of you haven't seen it.) I think Pen's suggestion was going to be along those lines...
I'm quite relieved that Pen has a second Remove Disease, although I made my last post based on the information Alex has available (i.e., Pen said she can only cast it once). Although it would have been kind of cool to play a flying head... Alex's Level 6 Changes +1 BAB (now +4) +1 to saves (now +3/+8/+1) Uncanny Dodge (can't be flanked) New Feat: Spring Attack (yipee!) New Skill Ranks: Bluff +1 (9 ranks total) Disable Device +1 (8 ranks total) Hide +1 (8 ranks total) Move Silently +1 (8 ranks total) Open Lock +1 (8 ranks total) Search +1 (9 ranks total) Spot +1 (7 ranks total) Tumble +1 (9 ranks total) Use Magic Device +3 (9 ranks total) Edit: Oh, yeah, I'm all in favor of a gradual revelation of the disease details as well. |

Re: Knowledge | ||

I forgot 1d10+2 for de hit points.
Yep, Raise Dead was part of the emergency plan. I can't say how happy I am to have a character with remove disease 2/week. I never thought she would need it much. Still, it would have been something to kill one of the other characters "for their own good" role play wise. |
