I don't think we should get too close tonight. I'd prefer not to alert whatever's camped in the temple ruins to our presence until Eber's had a chance to regain his spells.

"Yes, Ms. Allip is it? We'd like a couple of rooms for the night. And, uh, we'd appreciate it if you could kind of keep it down. We've got a long day of fighting goblinoids ahead of us and all the babling kind of makes it hard to sleep. Oh..., No I'm not saying your to blame for the babbling. We'd just appreciate it if you could keep things quiet for us."

We should probably camp not too close to the old temple, but not too far either, keeping an eye on things. Taking out a patrol or two, if they do such things, could make the odds a lil better come morning.

That makes sense to me too.
So what is everybody going to do for Easter? I have to work tomorrow - it will probably be a slow, boring day. Saturday I get to color eggs with the kids, and then after they go to bed we'll get their baskets ready and put candy inside the little plastic eggs to hide in the yard. Sunday we'll have an egg hunt. Then we're going to my mom's for the day. My dad is going to smoke ribs and sausage and a ham. I'll be bringing deviled eggs, among other things. I always have to make them - they're my husband's favorite! |

Easter weekend | ||
|
We rented a house in Friesland, way in the North of The Netherlands in a town called Sneek (pronounced Snake). I heard the town is quaint just last night from someone who had been. If you look on a map you can see that the northern part of the country is all jagged like a jigsaw puzzle of water and land. I've never been too far north, the farther you go the less the population and more farms...plus lots of water and natural beauty. Three other couples are going up and all of them have little kids. One popular activity is called mudwalkig. That's where the tide goes out and you can sort of slosh from island to island. We're not doing that...it's too strenuous and a bit dangerous for kids. You are up to your ankles in marsh mud and you need to get where you're going before the tide comes back in or bye bye!
But, none of them have ever done the egg decoration or hunt. In fact, when I told them about it...in an email where we sort of brainstormed some rainy day ideas (although hopefully the weather will behave) one of the moms (from Spain) talked about the interesting "eastern egg game that Jennifer is bringing." Anyway, I am a cultural liason I suppose. I'll make sure to explain that it's an activity for Easter. I made little ribboned baskets, and am carting up some egg dye, crayons, stickers, etc. I'm going to make everyone decorate at least one egg, and the dad's hide the eggs somewhere pretty. We'll see how it goes. I think either everyone will enjoy it or they will think I'm crazier than ever. I'm packing right now. I'll try to post IG, but then I'll be away until Tuesday. Happy Easter ROTTOEM gang. |

Lesse.. Today I'm going to be sanding, and then painting the dining room floor. Saturday.. Gonna go grocery shopping, and then I think we are coloring the eggs and stuff. Then Sunday we're off to my mother-in-law for Easter-food, and then my wife's aunt's place for dessert.
I hope that weird eastern egg game thing goes well! They really should make beer-scented candles. -Barak, while attending a candle-selling party. |

Sanding and painting.... I love those old fashioned Easter traditions!
Don't let me forget to have Nadia prepare new spells in the morning, OK? And I still have to pick a feat for 6th level.... |

Heh... We'll be coloring eggs and the boys will follow a trail of jelly beans to their Easter baskets on Sunday morning. Other than that, it will probably be a quiet day with the family.

Re: Easter weekend | ||

Hmm. I just realized that with Jen off on her Easter trek until Tuesday, it will be impossible for us to include her in the roleplay concerning the possible transformations of Alex and Nadia until then.
We know Penelope would perform the remove disease actions when needed, but there is a lot of really good roleplay fodder here (especially with the fact that Penelope doesn't yet know she can heal both of them). I really hate to blow by this with Pen as an NPC instead of giving Jen the chance to add her mark to the action. Is everyone really anxious to move forward or should we wait until Jen gets back on Tuesday? In the meantime, you can all assume that you find a suitable, sheltered camping spot, if you want to make posts leading up to sunset. |

I'm more than willing to wait.
Indeed, I'm not really at home for Easter, I'm about four hours away on retreat. Fortunately the retreat is at a Monestary that runs a college (St. Anselm in Manchester, NH if any of you care) so I have internet access, though I'm not really supposed to by using it. I have relatives in New Hampshire. None of them are monks though.....
I don't want Jen to miss out on any of the roleplaying. Pen will be a central figure, and I know I'm going to want to know her thoughts each step of the way! But we could start and just take our time with it. |

Re: Easter weekend | ||

Ok. We'll take it easy here, then. You can go ahead and set up camp, set your watches. Rob and Lisa can establish how their characters are going to wait out their transformations and I'll post if and when either of them starts losing hair.

Watches? We don't need no stinking watches!
OK, well yes we do. But I know that Nadia and Alex probably won't get much sleep tonight. They may as well have the first watch, and maybe the second one too. Rob, check your email. |

Re: Easter weekend | ||

Rolf will probably volunteer for a couple extra watches as well. Darkvision is good for night watches, and, well, I need to work hard at finding ways of making the Endurance Feat useful as more than a pre-requisite!
I obviously have no problems with going slow until Capp's return. As for the sanding being an Easter tradition.. Errr.. Well.. Hmm.. Oh, I got it! Easter is a christian holidy, after all, and Jesus was a carpenter by trade, so we do that to celebrate his life. Or, err.. Well. They really should make beer-scented candles. -Barak, while attending a candle-selling party. |

Easter Weekend | ||
|
I had a great weekend getaway. We didn't do as much esploring as we would have liked, but with a big group and lots of children (and a cold snap of weather)I suppose that is to be expected.
OK, I have to suspect that both Alex and Nadia are going to turn into Vargs. This is really not very nice to have to choose one over the other to cure first....everyone thinking the other is just plain out of luck. |

Re: Easter Weekend | ||
|
Oh... Seems Nadia must have failed her save.
We best check on Alex. You know, given that the time to hair fall out is variable, Alex may not start losing his hair for another hour or so. It might therefore be logical for the group to think that while Nadia is obviously affected (since she's started to lose hair) Alex may yet be safe. So Pen cures Nadia now, realizes that she can do it again, and then cures Alex when he starts to lose his hair. Black holes are where God divided by zero. |

Nadia's action | ||
|
I'll assume that Nadia is the first to realize that she's turning into a Varg. Pen is either asleep or on watch during the hair test. I'll let Crito decide which.
Anyway, I figure (now) Pen is going to check on both Nadia and Alex once every hour to see if she can determine their condition. Nadia is either due for an exam or she just had one. I'll let Crito decide which. |
