He's got a shot at it. I'm trying to figure out if I should make some sort of attack roll or skill roll.

That's what I was assuming - trying to get it through both doorways. I guess I didn't say that very clearly.

Ok. I figure I'll treat it using the "grenade-like weapons" rules, with Alex just trying to aim at the middle of the doorways.

Looks like we woke who ever was home.
Figures the sole living occupant of a haunted town would be a night owl. Now the question is friend or foe? Black holes are where God divided by zero. |

Re: Nulb - OOC | ||

Well the other question is..
Are we wating for Init, or should we post actions, or? They really should make beer-scented candles. -Barak, while attending a candle-selling party. |

Re: Nulb - OOC | ||

Well, if he's friend, init won't be necessary.
If he's foe..., well, let's just say I want him to prove he's foe before taking any hostile actions. No need to make any enemies. We already have plenty to deal with. |

Re: Nulb - OOC | ||

Well I figured David might want to move into init mode regardless, just to see how we react. I was just curious.
And to clarify, I'd like Rolf to move to J/K8. They really should make beer-scented candles. -Barak, while attending a candle-selling party. |

Is that Protection Against Evil Wand at 50 charges? That's plenty for being preventative. I think I might do a little metagaming. That cat screams 'familiar.'

Re: Nulb - OOC | ||

Yes. All your wands are fully charged. And you've met Spugnoir with his cat familiar, so I wouldn't consider your characters leaping to that conclusion to be metagaming.

Re: Nulb - OOC | ||

Yep, but Nadia isn't aware of the cat. (She didn't spot the small animal prints in the dust, and Eber is the only one who saw the cat through the bird's eyes.)
I was kinda hoping that Pen would do a quick little Detect Evil on the opening door.... |

Re: Nulb - OOC | ||

Right, Lisa.
Combat rounds really aren't appropriate at this point, unless you're going to initiate it. However, I'd still prefer to get each person's reaction to what's happening before posting the next NPC reactions. If your character is not going to do anything but stand and wait, you can just post in OOC that you're ready to move on. |

Re: Nulb - OOC | ||

It's fun to imagine who it might be! BP has suggested a necromancer. I like to think that there is a chance that it's a friendly person. (Remember that we ran into Spugnoir in the moathouse.) But more likely of course it's not someone nice... a cultist, maybe, here doing research or looking for something useful. Or maybe it's some kind of wacky vampire hunter.
I feel better being protected from evil, but unless it's a monster or a cleric of an evil deity, it may not help even if the mystery person is hostile. |

Re: Nulb - OOC | ||

Well if it turns to combat, as long as he/she/it is evil, we'd gain a +2 to AC.. Nothing to sneeze at. And a +2 to saves, should he/she/it be evil -and- a spellcaster..

Shoot. Looks like Rob is busy again.
I'm going to assume he'd want Alex to move to the opposite side of the doorway from Rolf to provide a flanking opportunity. Seems like the most logical move for Alex, don't ya think? |

Sounds good to me.
Of course, I'm not the one that really needs to be answering. Black holes are where God divided by zero. |

Re: Nulb - OOC | ||

There's throwing caution to the wind.
Just to be clear, Eber'll give Pen and Nadia the chance to duck out of sight (if they so chose) before he stands up and speaks. Now I guess we'll find out if the man will turn out to be friend or foe. Black holes are where God divided by zero. |

Makes sense, BP. Thanks for moving Alex, David. Your decision was fine.
I have to apologize for my sporadicity (is that a word?) lately. I'm halfway through my last semester of grad school, and it's a doozy. I'm still trying to get on here and post at least once a day, but it's not always at the same time as everyone else. The good news is that I graduate on April 30 and, assuming someone will hire me, I should become much more regular at that point. At this point, I think Alex will mostly be waiting to see how the guy with the strange choice of neighborhood responds to Eber's greeting. |

Friend or foe? | ||

He's got a cat named Melissa.... he's gotta be friendly!
Rob, I know how it is. Well no, I really don't know how it is because I never went to grad school... But I can imagine how it is! I'm just glad that you're still with us. |

Re: Friend or foe? | ||

Spellcaster! So, Penelope tried to get as many people with the wand from say the moment the muffled sounds came from the back until Eber stands from his hiding spot and motions for everyone to chill out.
Let me know who did or didn't get zapped. I assume she could have reached over the counter to get Rolf and Alex. Let me know if that assumption is wrong. |

Re: Friend or foe? | ||

Well not to sound overconfident, but one spellcaster alone would have to be pretty high level to take us. Let's hope -for him- that he's friendly.
