Sorry, I had to close the other thread.

Rolf failed a fort save!
Well. Lets see how the trog likes it next round. Black holes are where God divided by zero. |

Yeah. The good guys have been getting the bad rolls so far. I even remembered Rolf's +2 to saves vs spells that time.

I don't think I've ever been so nervous about a move in this game. If Alex misses or rolls a cruddy sneak attack, one good roll from the ogre and he's pulp.
At least the ogre finally missed Rolf for a change. |

Re: Mine Probe - OOC2 | ||

Well, that was a decent roll for Alex there. If Penelope can connect, that will probably do the trick.
And, Lisa. I think you jumped the gun on tagging your action as Round 10. That converted CMW happened in round 9 by my reckoning. So I think you need to update your post for your round 10 action. |

Yes I know... sorry about that. I'm not sure how it happened but I skipped round 9 somehow!

Uh oh... Pen didn't kill the ogre and a zombie knocked Alex down to a third of his hit points. If the ogre noticed that sneak attack (which seems pretty likely), Alex could be in deep doo here...

Wow. I am starting to get very frustrated with Crito's D20.

No kidding. Pen's going to start questioning her faith here if things don't start going better.
Let's just hope blind Rolf can take out this ogre. |

A little less then 50% chance of Rolf hitting him.
On the good side, if he -does- hit, the ogre goes down for sure. Edit: On the extremely bad side, Rolf is blind until we return to town. WHAT???! Why for so long?

Re: Mine Probe - OOC2 | ||

Or until we hit 6th level. Maybe we'll do that before we need to get back to town to get Rolf fixed. His EYES fixed. Then Nadia can cast 3rd level spells and Remove Blindness/Deafness is one of them. I am so glad you put that ability point in wisdom!

Re: Mine Probe - OOC2 | ||

Well Blindness is permanent, and remove blindness is a 3rd level clerical spell..
Capp is right though, of course.. If Nadia gain access to 3rd level spells soon enough, that'd work too. The holy passion of friendship is so sweet and steady and loyal and enduring in nature that it will last through a whole lifetime, if not asked to lend money. - Mark Twain |

Re: Mine Probe - OOC2 | ||

The thing that bugs me about Rolf being blind is that had we known it was comming, Eber could have countered the spell.
Of course, there is no way we could have known it was comming so its really a moot point. Still frustrating though. Black holes are where God divided by zero. |

Damn, what I wouldn't give for a scroll of dispel magic right now.
Crito, what kind of actions would be necessary to direct Rolf as to where to move and swing with his halbred? Black holes are where God divided by zero. |

Short verbal commands should be fine as free actions during your turns. I'd think it reasonable if each person in the group could give one directional command to Rolf each round.

Nice shot, Rolf. We may survive this yet! |

Re: Mine Probe - OOC2 | ||

Well, I changed my mind. The trog has been acting more as a caster than a fighter so I tried to deafen him instead of blinding him. Deafening will have more of an effect on his casting than blinding would.

Re: Mine Probe - OOC2 | ||

Well, it's too late now anyway, but I would have went with blindness myself.
Most of the spells he cast apparently are targeted spells, which requires LOS. Blind people have no LOS.. Plus it would have impaired him when he finally entered melee, which both clerics and troglodytes are very good at.. Oh well, deafness is nice too, and impedes communication greatly. Cool! Don't attack Z6 people! He just attacked Rolf, which means Rolf now knows where he is!
