Shaking his head in resignation, Corian moves to follow his companions down into the opening.

Ythan nods "That is fine by me. I will cover you from here for as long as I can see you. Give the rope one tug if you reach the bottom, or a big enough ledge for some of us, and I will come down then."
Once the rope is securely in place, Ythan will give Taes room and covers his descent as best he can with his bow. Ythan wil also keep a foot lightly on the rope so he can feel the tug when and if it comes. |

Seeing Corian's reaction Taes shakes his head. "We will be the death of you yet Corian."
Turning back to Ythan he addresses the ranger. "I am glad you did not try and argue. As soon as I find a safe place or the bottom I will tug on the rope. If you hear screaming pull me up please." With that the monk begins his decent. |

The shaft is slippery, but with the rope securing you, all of you but Ythan successfully arrives at the bottom... or at least, as far as you can go. Unfourtunately, the bottom of this shaft is completely in the water, and without a proper light source you cannot determine the depth. Judging from your decend, you may be well below sea level by now.

At Taes' comment, Ythan shrugs. "You are volunteering to put yourself in danger ahead of me...why should I argue? Don't worry though, I should be able to hear the screaming for quite a ways."
Once the third person begins to make his descent, Ythan will then shift the focus of his attention to the surrounding ruins. |

Era'when also covers the descent. He offers to allow Taes to go ahead of him, but if he refuses, the elf shrugs and heads down the hole. He pulls out his pin of continual flame before heading into the darkness.

"you wait here. It this does take a turn for the worse I would rather have three strong backs pulling one up than one strong back pulling three up." As the group watches the monk grabs the rope and starts to decend. When he finally reaches the end of the line he will shout up to the others.
"Water... It ends in water." ___________________________________________________________ As Taes and the rest of the group go about exploring the cavern, Narthos slips away to inspect the rest of the bodies, pocketing anything that looks useful or valuable while searching for impliments of writing. |

With Taes' warning, and realizing it is rather diffcult to discuss your plans hanging in the middle of a long shaft that ends in unknown depth of water, each of you climb up to ground level before further analyzing your situation.
