Any chance of allowing that Arcane rider PrC that's up on WotC's site right now?
Also, when do you need characters in by? I thought we weren't starting until after Christmas, so I haven't been working on mine! Sorry! |

Mine is 85% done. I just need to do my last 2 feats and my Eq.
I am waiting on my copy of song and Silence to be returned. I went to get it from one of my players last night and they had loaned it to another player. So maybe tonight or tomorrow. i can go ahead and post what I have so far if you want me too. ********************* We are all on the ship together I take it? What? A man can't give another man beads? Okay, how much money for stuff do we get exactly?

Re: Chapter One OOC | ||

5400...standard for a 4th level PC, according to the DMG (or so Darken has told me).
"Whadda ya mean, Orcs get levels too?!?"

Re: Chapter One OOC | ||

Yes, 5400 is the gold you guys get, and you may purchase anything within your budget (let me remind you guys that you are going to a desert area and you know it) within the PHB and DMG.
Also, additional note on PrC; for those of you who are planning multiple PrC, according to LG rule you are allowed to do so, but before you can acquire levels in a new PrC that you previously do not have levels in, you first must fulfill the additional pre-req of "have at least three levels in all other PrCs you currently have." Zack, as for the arcane rider, I am gonna have to say no, not because it's too powerful, but because it might be diffcult to deal with. The current ship you are on allows only tiny animals (ie familiars or similar creatures), anything big will not be allowed on the ship as per captain's will. Also, make sure you edit your post in character sheet thread instead of making a new post, since you are only allowed one post in there. Darken Light, is the lack of darkness. |

Is a riding dog too big?

Re: Chapter One OOC | ||

Anything bigger than size Tiny that's not a normal humanoid will not be allowed on the ship.

Re: Chapter One OOC | ||

Okay, give me a few days to re-think my character concept.
BTW, every single animal on the list of what a ranger can take as an animal companion is Small or larger, with the exceptions of the Hawk and the Owl. |

Re: Chapter One OOC | ||

If you have a big animal (relatively), you'll either have to leave it behind and get to it later, or somehow disguise it. I understand this could be pretty inconvient for several character types, but it's specifically stated in the campaign notes, so I'd like to stick to it for now.

Yea...was just going to edit my post on there. Ok...I'll see what I can come up with then!

Re: Chapter One OOC | ||

Guys, maybe you should first at least put down your names in this OOC thread if not the char sheet thread, so that you can finish up your character while start the game already with some "Getting to know each other."

Re: Chapter One OOC | ||

I'm still trying to decide what to do about my ranger's animal - what kind I will have, and whether I will try to bring it. The concept I had was that he would ride the dog into combat, and without the dog he is considerably less effective. So, I think I will come up with another type of ranger. His name'll probably change, too.

Re: Chapter One OOC | ||

Ok...I've finally decided to take the plunge and try to do an Arcane Trickster. He's going to be mostly mage for the next few levels, then finish up the other two rogue levels, then AT.
Couple questions... 1.) Do we start with minimum XP for 5th level? If not and we take Item Creation feats, can we use those prior to the start of the game (ie half-price magic items that our characters created, minus appropriate XP)? 2.) Is Gray Elf allowed in Greyhawk or just normal High Elves? I think that's it... |

Re: Chapter One OOC | ||

Just noticed that grey elves are in the LG PDF...still think I should get the ok first though.

Re: Chapter One OOC | ||

We start at level 4, not 5. So you'll start with minimum experienced required for level 4, and the appropriate character wealth for level 4. You may have an additional 600 exp for item crafting process (and only item crafting; any extras will be just removed so your exp is at minimum for level 4). And grey elf is allowed, in fact you can't even use the normal elf, you have to pick High elf

BTW, I put the new ranger up in the character sheets area. All he needs is a background...

Re: Chapter One OOC | ||

We can start the game now, if you don't have your char ready, at least just put your name up in the character sheet or in this thread, and you may start your posting in IC like Andorax already did.

I always thought the normal elf WAS high elf. Thanks for the clairification...I'll have me character up soon!

"High Elf" is just what they call a normal elf in Greyhawk.

Okay, darken, quick question(s):
Where did we launch from? And where exactly on the Bright Desert coast are we to land? Is there a map of the region we can look at? |
