Why do Yugoloths have a caste system if they aren't lawful? (I read in the MM 2 that the weak Yugo is higher ranked than more powerful Yugos...)
Yep, that's true. It's to teach lessons to the Yugoloths. When the lower ranked Yugoloth finally realizes that he can easily kill his superior, and begins to formulate ways to do it without getting caught, he then becomes eligible for a promotion.
