Steelskin Over time, the character with this feat has toughened his skin to the point where it can absorb some extra amount of damage. Prerequisite: Con 18+ Benefit: Each time a character takes this feat, he gets +1 to AC. Before he make take it again, however, he must increase his constitution by at one. For example, a Fighter takes Steelskin with 18 Constitution. If he wishes to take it again, he must increase his Constitution to at least 19. However, if he increased his Constitution to 20, he could take the feat two more times before needing to increase his Constitution again. Special: May be gained multiple times; stacking effect. Not accessible as a fighter bonus feat. Shoot me down again. Please.

And since its a feat it cant be too powerful (because who will waste a feat over and over and over just for +1 AC each time. Compared to when it was +3 ). When I get some Idea's I'll post here also. My Favourite Oxymoron is, and always will be, Microsoft Works.

If this feat Raises your Base 10 to 11 and so forth, it would be worth it, But if it counts as Natural AC and such.. well.. no. As it is worded I would say it does work against Touch Attacks because it is an Unamed Bonus. My Favourite Oxymoron is, and always will be, Microsoft Works.

Contemplation By taking a second to acess the situation you get a bonus to hit with your first attack that round. Benifit: You get a +1 to hit with your first attack on any round you use this. You also suffer a -4 penalty to your iniative roll. This does not stack with improved initative. So if you have imp int and this feat you still have -4 to init when using it, not 0. Prereq: Int 13+(you have to be able to think fast) Not sure if its worth it or not.

Posts: 141 (10/16/01 01:06:50) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Don't know why nobody has thought of this one Shojo Mallet Preresiquite: Must be female, CHA 13+ This Feat allows the character (who must be female and preferably cute/silly) to breach HammerSpace, allowing them to hit someone with a mallet. However, this can only be done for comical purposes, and thus does no actual damage. In real combat it cannot be used at all.

Posts: 683 (10/16/01 05:25:23) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	the way in which the original feat is written, the armor bonus seems to be more akin to a Natural Armor bonus, and, as such, would provide nothing vs. a touch attack. and using the description already present, that of "hardened skin", no other type of bonus applies. maybe make it +2 Natural Armor Bonus every time the feat is taken, but keep the requirement that the Con score must increase.

Posts: 529 (10/17/01 20:29:29) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I was thinking of something sort of like a spellcaster's version of rage--it allows spells, if they succeed at a check, to blow through elemental and spell resistance completely. So a creature with fire resistance 10 and SR 10 wouldn't get to roll for spell resistance and would take normal damage from, say, a fireball, rather than subtracting 10 from it. Also, since it's somewhat like rage, barbarian/spellcaster multi-class characters would get a big bonus to their check. For balance issues, they (all people who use it, not just barbarian/spellcaster multi-classes) might get winded. I'm not sure.

Posts: 85 (10/19/01 16:17:06) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Feat name: Slayer Description: You are especially skilled at fighting certain types of creatures, so much so that you can damage them in ways others did not know was possible Benefit: Choose a type of creature that is immune to critical hits, such as constructs, undead, oozes, etc. Creatures of the selected type are no longer considered immune to critical hits when you attack them. This feat only functions for attacks you make yourself. Requirements: Base attack bonus +3 or higher, must have fought and defeated at least one creature of the selected type on at least three separate encounters. This feat can be taken multiple times. Each time it is chosen a new creature type must be selected. A good feat for characters with a "(insert creature here)-killer" theme going on. It would also allow the use of other abilities that get nerfed by crit-proofed monsters, such as sneak attack, precise strike, and the ranger's favored enemy bonus.

I'd consider making a Prestige Class that get's this ability at later levels. It'll work very well with the Ranger's favoured enemy thing. How About: Slayer. Pre-req: BAB +5, Lawful BAB as Ranger Saves as Fighter 1: Favoured Enemy - chosen type 2: Free Fighter Feat7 3: +1 Slayer Focus (+1 to save vs. attacks from chosen enemy, DC of spells cast at chosen enemy +1). 4: Can Detect Chosen Enemy a number of times a day equal to his Cha Mod. 5: Can critical creature if it is immune to criticals 6: +2 Slayer Focus (+2 to save vs. attacks from chosen enemy, DC of spells cast at chosen enemy +2). 7: Free Fighter Feat 8: Can rebuke Chosen Enemy as a cleric 3 levels lower 9: +3 Slayer Focus (+3 to save vs. attacks from chosen enemy, DC of spells cast at chosen enemy +3). 10: Is immune to any one attack form from the Chosen Enemy (energy drain, domination, ooze acid). Edit: This was off the top of my head, so go easy if it sucks. Cleanliness is next to godliness. And the chip shop is next to the hair dresser's. It doesn't persuade me to visit either.

So a Slayer could fight with his/her hands and feet or his/her weapons, or even uses mainly magic, as decided by the classes taken.

Posts: 85 (10/26/01 20:37:27) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I hardly think this feat is "overpowered" considering that it can only be used against one type of creature; consider the dwarf's +4 dodge bonus vs. giants. +4 is a hell of a bonus, especially since it stacks with everything else, but you only get it against giants. And as for the issue of anatomy, note that the books generally say that crit-proof creatures lack a discernible anatomy. It's not that they have no anatomy at all, it's just that their anatomies differ so wildly from those of "normal" creatures that they don't have the same weak points. Nevertheless, further consideration has prompted me to add the following requirement for the feat: Five ranks of Knowledge (chosen creature type). It's reasonable to assume that this would be sufficient knowledge to determine that golems have structural weaknesses there, that ghouls usually leave themselves wide open when you move like this, or that a blow from that particular angle will often pierce a treant's bark easily.
