AAAARGH! There's something I'm either completely missing the boat on, or else WotC dropped the ball.
Something which severely bothers me about the so-called "initiate feats", featured first in the Player's Guide to Faerun and later in Races of Destiny.
For those unfamiliar, the Initiate feats are religion-specific, and let followers of a specific faith gain a special benefit (similar to a domain boost) AND add a list of spells to their "Cleric spell list".
However, this part doesn't make sense to me:
Radiant Fire (Initiate of Pelor, Races of Destiny page 155).
"In addition, you may add the following spells to your cleric spell list:"
3rd: Summon Monster III
5th: Summon Monster V
6th: Summon Monster VI
8th: Summon Monster VIII
Clerics ALREADY have these spells on their list. What is the POINT of adding these spells (limited to fire elementals only, btw) to the Cleric's spell list if he already has access to them?

"Whadda ya mean, Orcs get levels too?!?"

are the levels for Summon Nature's Ally to get medium, large, huge, greater elementals. Both Summon Monster and Summon Nature's Ally get Elder at level 9, so there is no mentioning of it in the list.
