I have made a 16th level character who has taken the dragon cohort feat. The problem is that his cohort is a Spiked Feldrake. ECL6. He should have an ECL 15 cohort or thereabouts. How to get him up to that power level is the question.
I know that I can add class levels as it has an intellegence of 10, but somehow class levels just don't seem right in some cases. I would like to be able to add dragon Prc class levels but the little guy doesn't qualify for any of them yet (mostly BAB issues - hes about 10 points shy). There are no Prcs in Savage Species that seem appealing and actually none that it qualifies for, or I may have went with them.
I guess what I am down to is advancing by type. I could just advance him as a dragon accourding to rules in the MM. Unless anyone has a better idea?
Edit: Decided to go by type. Hrm...odd, just noticed that when advancing by type you do not gain ability modifiers outside of that gained via size increase?
