These finely crafted masterwork swords are the signature of a truly great blacksmith. It's slightly curved blade makes it akin to the rapier, but its wider and stiffer blade hints at its other ability. For with one click on a button in the handle, a single custom made bolt shoots out of the blade at the top at whichever the wielder aims. The mechanism to fire off this bolt is a springload-design which takes some time to arm again.
One of the more reknowned tubeswords is "Eregorn's Decider" whish actually is a +2 tubesword containing an everlasting custom bolt. Because of this, reloading is only a move eq. action. It was the favored sword of the duelist wizard Eregorn who could not stand it if any of his challenged opponents turned to flee the duel if it went bad. He was of he strict opinion that the only two ways to come out of a duel were dead or victorious. Eregorn eventually died by his own sword when he tried to challenge a vampiric sorcerer who tricked him into challenging his own weapon.
