In d20 rules there are 2 ways that magic is gained through presige classes.

1) no overlap... You have your spells per day pe class ie if you were a bard/cleric/wizard (bad example but anyways) you have your bard spells per day, your cleric spells per day, and yourwizards spells per day... aseperate.

2) prestige classes that add +1 level of spellcaster level. Where your spells per day increase but you gain the special ablitities of your new class not the original.

You could also make the spell lists similar to cleric domains and when you take the Time Wizard class you gain the Time spell list or something. Or maybe try something like every time you level you get to pick spells of a paticular level for that class... Lvl white mage get white spells, lvl time mage get time spells... Don't know though. The only way I can see to do it is to try option #2 and work out ablities for each class that the character wouldn't get if they switched magic schools.... Um Yeah thats alls I gots for the moment.
