Astronomers just discovered a new almost-planet, and I wanted to be the first one to come up with a d20 setting set there.
I figure this is set in the near future, when humanity reaches the Kuiper Belt. There, they find that Venusians had colonized Sedna millions of years ago. The Venusians are, of course, far above humans in intellect, and regard humans as wild animals like monkeys or sparrows.
There are at least two races of Venusians. One strain remained on Venus, where they continue to be adapted to very high temperatures. The other strain genetically engineered themselves to be adapted to the frigid wastes of the Kuiper Belt and the Oort Cloud.
The Sednans knew that humans were coming, and so they created a race of humanoids to help humans get settled in the Kuiper Belt. The characteristics of this race were based on expectations expressed in human television broadcasts, and data gleaned from UFOs sent to observe the human race in the late 20th Century.
I figure that PCs could be Humans, Androids, or Lesser Kuiperians.
