We are recruiting for an Arcane caster for a long-running and well-established year-round online gaming group. We use OpenRPG and game on Friday nights from 6:30 pm Eastern Standard Time (EST) until 11:00 PM EST.
We offer:
- Reliable DM and player base
- Engaging campaign world where players decide what the next adventure will be
- Opportunities to defeat and overcome challenges without always needing to cut something down
- A world rich in history and culture allowing for maximum customization without damaging the integrity of the milieu
- The ability to make dice rolls that do not result in hits, misses or passed or failed saving throws. Skills like Spot, Listen and Knowledge are just as important as Base Attack Bonus.
- The ability to join a number of campaign unique guilds and organizations to add depth to your character
- The game operates weekly and year-round. Some breaks in the schedule do occur but, by and large, the campaign does operate throughout the year and not just the collegiate session
- The emphasis is on cooperative, not competitive, game play. The 1st level wizard or sorcerer candidate will not be disadvantaged by being around higher level characters (most have just reached 2nd level in truth). Most characters have a role in the party and the better you can fill that role, the greater your value to the party as a whole
We do not offer:
- Rapid level advancement. Typically, adventurers can expect to level up every 4 to 7 weeks. The greater the risk, the faster the leveling
- Lots of magical goodies. Scrolls and potions abound but magic armor and weapons, wands and wondrous items can not be bought on the open market. Powerful magic devices exist but are in the hands of equally powerful monsters and NPCs
- A place to login in and doze off. The campaign is mentally demanding and players will receive XP not only for things they kill and accomplish but also based on their participation during a session
- A Player vs. Player Arena. Because the emphasis is on cooperation, PvP is discouraged not only as a house rule but, more importantly, because the other members of the gaming group find PvP to be destructive to the gaming environment we enjoy. No hobby should leave you frustrated and angry when you are finished for the week
It is crucial that interested players read and follow the rules outlined on the following boards, under the forum entitled "New Players":
pub89.ezboard.com/bcalameetcommunity
There will be a space to leave contact information. That contact information should include the following information:
Handle or Player name (both, ideally)
Method of contact via e-mail, ICQ or MSN Messenger only. AIM or Yahoo account contacts are of no use to us.
Character idea (character class)
WARNING!
This campaign is ill-suited to half-dragon psionicists, drow anything and aasimar sorcerers. If the class or race you want is not on the official campaign website, it is unavailable for play. Please do not request any such characters to be added. Players are expected to have access to the 3.5 PHB or the 3.5 SRD. The core rule books are the ONLY rule books used in this campaign. Any exceptions, additions or expansions to this have been noted in the campaign information on the Calameet website.

But you creatures are not human. Worse - you are not gods though you behave as if you were. Your day is over and you must be wiped out, your cities destroyed, your sorceries forgotten - from Michael Moorcock's "Elric of Melnibone"
