She was made under some odd house rules, and I editted her without consulting the book. My bad. As for her feats? You have to understand, that Lerra was not made with hardcore adventuring in mind. She's very neurotic, and she (and I) worked a good while with Astral Construct in mind. In the game, we were allowed to manifest it out of dorjes...but I think she's nuts enough to just blow the feat, and do the time. A little nonsense, now and then, is cherished by the wisest men.

DANGIT! Everyone, I do NOT have a saved copy of your character sheets (although I'm in the process of doing so now). If your character sheet was swallowed up by the most recent EZBoard FUBAR, then please repost it in the new thread immediately. I will keep copies, as soon as they are posted. I will not be able to even start matches until both competitors are reposted...for one thing, I need their initiative modifiers. TheCrookedPath, the breakdown is as follows: Round 1 will reduce the field from 11 down to 6 through 5 matches and one bye. Round 2 will reduce the field from 6 down to 3. Round 3 will be a "round robin" match, pitting each of the three summoners against the other two in a total of 3 matches. Anyone who can win two is the clear winner. If all three summoners win a single match, victory will be awarded to the summoner who has the highest point total for their two Round 3 matches. Is that what you were after? You know the letter for the columns, the numbers for the rows. If not that system then what system are you using?

Did I misread that rule?

However, these spells may not target, damage, or include in their area of effect opposing creatures, and (with the exception of dispels and counterspells) may not target, include in their area of effect, or deny access to nearest Summoner's Row to the opposing Summoner. Summoned creatures are permitted to use any powers (spells, spell-like abilities, supernatural abilities, psionics, and the like) that they possess against opposing creatures (but see H below), but are likewise bound by the rule to not target, include in their area of effect, or deny access to the gameboard the opposing Summoner. At the time the spell was cast, the Wall of Fire has done none of those things. If a creature later wanders into the fire, that is their own fault. Andorax, In match 3 you said the current summoning die is 4. But I believe the first round only uses a d3 for the summoning die. *Quote:* A) First-round tournament play will consist of 6 total rounds, the first 3 of which are summoning rounds, and the designated summoning die shall be a D3. Summoners are permitted a single prep spell prior to the tournament beginning, though such a spell must be personal in nature, or target only the half of the board closest to the summoner. That means any creature Cog would have summoned into play would have immediately have been confronted with 1d4 points of damage, and that would have continued for at least 8 rounds. EDIT: Nevermind. I see now where I goofed. I could have placed the wall closer to me, allowing access to Cog's first row. Oh well, lesson learned for next time.

Revised posts now reflect that. Mercutio01, his move is technically legal, since the damaging AOE ends just before your summoning row (note he cast it between rows C and D, not D and E). You can still summon creatures into your summoning row without them being in the AOE of the spell, thus making the move technically legal. Creatures being affected by it are either due to your choosing to summon them outside your summoning row and thus into the fire, or by your choosing to order them to advance into the fire. Low as all get out, but technically legal. There may well be a review/revision of ruling for the next match, but as it stands the move is allowed. Lord Twig, you are correct...and oops on my part. Rerolling and editing now. NemZ, if you could please refrain from posting questions in the actual combat thread, and post them here instead, I would appreciate it. If a Mod can/would delete NemZ's misplaced post in Round 3, I'd appreciate it. "Whadda ya mean, Orcs get levels too?!?"

The rule states that spells may not damage opposing creatures, right? So...is it legal until his one of the creatures steps forward? It doesn't have a part about the spell damage alright, so long as it wasn't cast that turn. A little nonsense, now and then, is cherished by the wisest men.

If you'd seen the previous match, you'd have seen this in action. You're allowed to cast AOE spells with a variety of unpleasent and/or debilitating effects, so long as the enemy creatures aren't in it when it's cast. They become "tactical obstacles" in that sense. You have to either dispose of them, suffer the consequences of going through them, or work your way around them. "Whadda ya mean, Orcs get levels too?!?"

The fire domain is the only way a cleric can get that wall, afterall, and nothing else in the domain is even close to helpful for this tournament. There are numerous ways around the fire that I am using at this moment.

The ceiling height in the tavern is 12'. As such, your medium-sized astral constructs would need to take squeezing movement to pass through that gap, and it would require successful Escape Artist checks on thier parts to do so.
