Watch your heads, folks...we've two firey competitors for this match. Ash and Jonathan both are highly prone to casting fire magics about, and likely blowing things up in the process. It's going to be one hot match, that's for sure! Hey...someone get Ash a stool or something...he can barely see over the summoner's podium. You would think they would accommodate Small casters a bit better than that. Such a shame. Wilfred should be ashamed. Watch out...see that smirk on Jonathan's face over there? I think we can count on Ash to be blasting it right off before this match is over, one way or another. The guests are seated, the challengers have taken their places on the summoning stands, and Wilfred Pennyweight is signalling that he's ready to get started. So let us begin! Ash has drawn red for this match, Jonathan will be in blue. Ash, please post your list of spells memorized for today's match. Both summoners, please post your "prep" spell. You both have 24 hours to respond, at which time prep spells will be resolved, initiative rolled, and the match will officially get underway.

He scampers up to the podium and then climbs atop it so he can see the smirking foe he's been paired with. "A Red Dragon... how original." He then turns his attention towards the host. "Tisk tisk, Willy... Surely it is a shame that the two most... ruthless... participants just happened to be paired in the first round. I considered sparing this establishment on account of the properly fearful and deferential behavior of your serving wenches, but this scheme of yours truly burns me!" With that, he punctuates the statement by casting his prep spell. prep spell = Wall of Fire, targeted on the center of the 15' line out from my side and restricted to the 40' width of the arena. Heat waves will radiate towards Jonathan's side, naturally. Spell List: 0 - Guidance x3, Mending x3 1 - Protection from Law x2 , Protection from Chaos x2, Hide from Undead, Remove Fear 2 - Summon Monster II, Darkness x2, Obscuring Mist, Produce Flame 3 - Summon Monster III x2, Dispel Magic, Prayer 4 - Summon Monster IV x2, Wall of Fire

I too agree it is a small shame that I shall have to destroy your hopes of blowing this place sky high, but I do wish you luck. Jonathan choses to cast no prep spell. He is impatient that the summoning hasn't started and that he wasn't the first match.

Wilfred chews at his lower lip nervously, watching scorchmarks forming on the carefully inlayed wood floring and the smoke blackening the ceiling above. Ash rolls a 15+2=17 for Inititive, Jonathan rolls a 20+6= 26. Jonathan has the first action for round 1. The first round summoning die is: 3 Jonathan, you have 24 hours to post your first move.

After 1 round: Jonathan: 0 creatures Spells in Effect: None Ash: 0 creatures Spells in Effect: Wall of Fire (rest of match) Not a good start for Jonathan. The Summon IIIs are where the big power is, and only getting one...well, that's GOT to be disappointing. Victors don't bemoan, they overcome. Besides, Ash could be just as unlucky. Yeah, sure...or he could get a trio of nearly fireproof crocodiles to chomp up that hound and spit it back out. Whatever comes, expect a lot of fire to fly. 1 - Hellhound. A: 30 hp The second round summoning die is: 2 Jonathan, you have 24 hours to cast your second round spell.

Go forth and bring me victory!" all in INfernal Begins casting: Summon Monster IV for 1d4+1 Medium Fiendish Monstrous Scorpions to H2, H1, H3, G3, G1 in that order as needed. Hellhound moves from H5 to G5 and readies to attack any oppenent that comes into its threat range.

The wall tends to make it tough to second-guess what your opponent has, and what they're gong to do. . You're right. I hope we don't wind up waiting out the match with both casters in a standoff. 1 - Hellhound. A: 30 hp 1 - Fiendish Crocodile. Fire Immunity and Fire Resist 5 (respectively) absorb it all. After 2 rounds: Jonathan: 1 creatures Spells in Effect: None Ash: 2 creatures Spells in Effect: Wall of Fire (rest of match) Ok, now we're getting somewhere. Scorpions...big, mean, black scorpions from the hells. Yes, but what are they gonna do, sit and stare at the wall? 'fraid so, actually. This could be a long, slow standoff. 1 - Hellhound.
