Well...just to get this OOC thread off to a good start...

I have a new job! I just received verbal confirmation (official letter is in the mail) that I'm being offered a new position at the Idaho Department of Insurance.

This new job is focused even more on what I already do...web, database and programming. It's also a 44% raise in pay! I don't know when (if) I'll be able to get ICQ set up, or log onto 3EBB from work...but I'll try to make a point of getting on from home to keep things rolling here.

If the group doesn't pursue through the portal, Chapter 2 should be done when you're done with the Ghirrash and have recovered (one way or another) Gron'rindul.

Are you guys going to get a scroll of Banishment or Dismissal? Dismissal will be easier to cast (by like 4 caster levels), but that 20% chance of sending it to the wrong plane is a biggie.

I don't think that is a problem. I am thinking, we'll ask the creature for funds for a Banishment spell, but only purchase a Dismissal spell. Qayan and I will keep the scroll's actual spell to ourselves without explaining to the others, and since it has 80% chance of working properly and 20% of sending to a random, non-Prime Material plane, it means it will have 100% chance of getting the thing out of our way, and that's all we care about. And since it's a scroll, ie a spell completion item, there will be no way to Spellcraft the actual spell being cast. Of course one problem would be, if the creature has Spellcraft and want to examine the scroll beforehand.

Yagh! Would something happen already? Banish the thing and get it over with.
Why am I always available and ready to roleplay when there's a lull in the game, and always busy somewhere else when all sorts of things are happening?
Or am I being incredibly hypocritical and rude?

On a lighter note, am I dooming Khasar by striking a conversation with the Ghirrash?

I think RL must really be hammering Ogwul. I have not seen him on chat or on-line in the last couple of days. Come to think of it I have not seen Andorax around lately either.

Meh. I guess I'm just getting annoyed at nothing. Shouldn't blame them. I've been absent more than my share of times. Hope I wasn't callous.

BTW, I just joined two other online games. In case anyone is interested at all, they are at DnD Online Games and Astel.

The first is an Oriental Adventures campaign, the second an odd homebrew campaign where one guy DMs several small groups. In case anyone is looking for an extra game to fill their time, both DnD Online Games and Astel are very good. Not as good as some of the groups here, but still good.

New job is tighter on online policy, so I'm (for now anyways) stuck with getting online once a day, in the evenings, from home. Even that's difficult with a 6-week old in the house.

I am stuck in a similiar situation now, work doesn't allow net access (not like I'll have time even if I do have net access with all the crazy paper work), and I only have a couple of hours in the evening during the week. I'll still post at least once per day though, but not more than that probably, since I have another game I am in (also on Astel) and I have to DM 2 other games (or 5 other games, depending on how you look at it). Eh, I'll get used to it.

Hey.

There has been illness in my family that has required my attention recently. I am sorry for not posting sooner.

Actually, I'm not sure why we haven't moved ahead. Qayan is not going to be reading the scroll as it is likely of divine origin (being that we got it from the temple). If anything, the Dwarven priest assigned to us (Serin) will actually perform the ritual and finally end this matter. Then we can turn our energies to recovering Gron and proceeding with our next steps.

Anyway, I firmly believe that things will pick up here once we get our group patched back up. We really gotta avoid that death thing in the future. In a PbP it is painful ... to everyone ... for quite some time

. I'm not sure how we could have done this much better (faster, smoother, etc.) tho. Any suggestions/observations?

Darken: I noticed that Rivalry seemed to be 4 one on one games in the same forum. Seems like it would be hard on both you and the players to only have one other person to interact with.

I am under the impression that the dialogue that is being posted is going on during the time that Qayan is gone and that Andorax would post my return when he felt that enough time had passed. Also, if Qayan has any say about it, he would definitely purchase a divine Dismissal scroll rather than a Banishment scroll in order to save on coin. The guardian will obviously forgo its save and SR in order to be set free, so any spell capable of whisking it away will do. I would like to make it clear that I am waiting on Andorax to state that Qayan has returned before I post.

Edit: Ima dork. He _has_ stated my return. Damn that was fast. I musta glossed over it. Anyway, I'd like the scroll to be purchased as I have stated above. I will give it to Seren to complete. Posting IC ...

I doubt that he will do much. Unless he really is as crude as I say he is. Plus, Zanas probably is dissapointed that her big childhood fear is so simple, at least in her mind. Also, she meant it that she could be at least somewhat proud to have been killed by a Ghirrash. Somehow it is a noble death. It's also just one of her moods. I'm trying to RP the chaotic neutral alignment.
