Could this possibly be the place? No...this is different. Darvi nods, "Very well. We will see about rewards when it comes to that. Otherwise, I agree to help you."

The young man smiles, "Most excellent! You may freely make use of this facility if you wish, until the other two armies arrive. We anticipate the commander of the Shades will come with reinforcements, and your task will be obviously at that time. We will inform you of anything of importance... until then, you may freely browse this magical dwelling. Be advised, that some doors are marked with the symbol of Shaundakul, such as this." He pulled out a golden holy symbol on his necklace. It looks like bearded man riding winds or clouds. "These doors lead to some private locations, please respect the signs and do not enter those doors."

Darvi nods, "Fair enough. Please explain to me what these facilities hold." Darvi surveys the area around him.

"Food, lodging, just the essentials. A shrine dedicated to our patron are also here if you are interested." He explains, "There are other places for specific magical facilities, but unfourtunately no outsiders will be participating in them."

"I see," Darvi frowns, "And what exactly can an ousider do? I mean, apart from praying to your god." He raises an eyebrow. What will he do while he waits to fight?

"Well, it's certainly a time of hardship, but certainly you can find some ways of entertaining yourself. Enjoy life, for it can be short. Food, drinks, stories, and lots of them." Zeltaeber smiles, "Unfourtunately if you seek female companions, we have shortage in that area."

Darvi smiles, "No, female companionship is not what I seek. Nor is food and drink. I suppose information is the most important thing that I desire to have. Can it be provided? Specifically," he reaches into the pouch on his belt and pulls out the symbol he had taken from the body of the men who had attacked him previously, and holds it up, "can you tell me who this belongs to? I do not recognize it, and a group of men who attacked me wore this around their necks. They were taught to leave me alone."
He smiles dispite himself. |

Almost all of them recgonize the symbol nearly instantly as you reveal it, some even express hatred, but soon dispel those thoughts as the bearer of the symbol probably won't be this stupid to just wander into a place like this along.
"This is an unholy symbol of Cyric, god of murder and lies." Zeltaeber replies, "The bearers of this symbol would most likely be his followers." |

Darvi nods, "I see. Well, the men who carried these are dead now. It didn't take me long, they were merely a minor annoyance." He puts the symbol back into his pouch, it may become useful later. "And I assume by the reactions of your men that you don't take kindly to Cyric or his followers?"

"Like most of Faerun, we do not. No one allies with Cyric the mad." He replies simply. "Trickery and Lies do not make friends. At least, long term friends. They have been assulting the south in disguise or..."
Zeltaeber was interrupted by a men's voice from the second floor, "Zel, we have received words from the Lanthanderites, they have arrived at the Farsea Marshes by the hills of Stormhorns, and they say the Elven Lord's army will also arrive soon, possibly tomorrow or the day after." |

Darvi looks startled, "It seems you keep good company. Elves to help in your battle?" He pauses, thinking, bored, and curious, "What do you feel would be the best way for me to assassinate this Shade leader, and when is he expected to attack?"

"Your wait would be short." Zeltaeber replies, "It would seem that the Shades are gathering near The Sword in the desert. As for tactics... we have been fighting each other since the dawn of time, and we know each other all too well. The result is simple, we cannot even start to second guess each other, and we know each other's tricks, and thus it'll be a direct confrontation with no strategies involved. You may employ whatever tactic that suits you, I suppose."

Darvi nods, "One more: I am unfamiliar with them, do I need to carry any special weapons to kill them?"

"You do not a weapon of magical nature to harm them." Zeltaeber nods, "However you probably do not need to worry about it, as we will be using magical lights to dispel the darkness of the night contiunesly, and their supernatural mights are surpressed withour darkness."

Darvi nods, satisfied with the answer, he looks around the area, becoming bored with it already, "So...we just wait then?"

Zeltaeber shakes his head. "As soon as we finish our remote viewing magicks, we'll move out right away down hills to join the others. I also need to contact the Sage to come and secure this place in our absence. He has agreed to take some time off from his defense of Myth Drannor to cover for us until we defeat the Shades. Until then..."
He shrugs, and walks up the stairs. |

Darvi rolls his eyes and begins walking around, without any particular purpose, just exploring. Should I help them? Well, at the very least, I can allow them to think that I am, and see what the situation is when we reach the Shades. Maybe the Shades can make me a better offer...
He'll wait until something of interest happens, needing nothing from the facilities. |

Your boredom soon vanishes as Zeltaeber organizes, or at least that's what he calls leading you and his people randomly down the hill, the Shaundakulian to meet up with the other forces.
Moving easily and rapidly downhills, you soon see the other two groups of people by the bottom of the Stormhorn, at the edge of the Farsea Marshes. The nearer one bears the symbols of Lanthander, the other has no visible emblems or flags. You can see a copper dragon above the farther group, circling to maintain its attitude, observing you and the Shaundakulians. |
